Our Rihla

The retreat is designed to equip us to face challenges with purpose, as we balance meaningfully our spirituality, relationships, and career with mizan (spiritual justice) by:

healing the self and the world through ihsan (beauty), while attuning our primordial fitra to what God ﷻ intended for us
connecting to God’s signs in nature through tafakkur (contemplation)

The Tirtha Quddus Farm is located in Janda Baik, a 55-min drive from Kuala Lumpur. It is a stunningly beautiful part of Malaysia with lush tropical forests and fruits, abundant greenery, flowing creeks, diverse vegetation, and quaint, laid-back villages.

Why Tirtha Quddus Farm?

Tirtha Quddus Farm is a budding homestead and creative sanctuary nurtured by al marhum sayyidi Abbas, sayyidati Safia, and their family. Born from a childhood dream and a deep, spiritual calling to tend the earth as khalifa fil ardh, the farm is a testament to the journey from urban life to a more connected, intentional way of living.

The farm is a place dedicated to nurturing the soul, fostering creativity, and delighting in good company, all while striving to be a model of gentle stewardship. It serves as a living classroom where the family learns to grow their own food, embrace their natural selves, and witness the profound signs of the Creator in everything, from the sunshine and rain to the miraculous arrival of life in a newly dug pond.

Situated on a property that is continually evolving, the landscape features vegetable gardens, flourishing flowers, a pond, and wild spaces where children can explore and connect deeply with nature. It is a personal and heartfelt project, representing a dream realised and an ongoing adventure in regenerative living and creative expression.

The 5-day retreat is family friendly and open for everyone. The retreat includes wholesome organic meals, activities, and lessons covering:

The program also includes congregational prayers and adhkar, morning invocations, optional activities in returning ourselves to nature such as farming, hiking, star gazing, and swimming.

The 5-day retreat is $1490 per person including daily lessons, readings, bus transport to and from the airport, farm accommodation, and halalun tayyib meals.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Tirtha Quddus is an integral part of the experience, designed for immersion in the natural surroundings. Guests will stay in rustic yet comfortable wooden and bamboo lodges.

These structures are thoughtfully designed using natural materials and passive cooling principles to ensure the air remains cool and dry, even during the high moisture season, providing a serene and comfortable retreat. The classrooms and event space is also designed with full ecological principles and adobe materials.

Please note that the venue has a capacity of 31, and additional participants, will be hosted at the beautiful farm next door, 100m away, where the instructors will stay. It will be a short 3 min walk to classrooms.

Reaching our tranquil farm from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is a straightforward journey into the Malaysian countryside. We recommend the following options for your travel.

For all guests, please ensure you coordinate your arrival details with us in advance. We will provide you with the precise address and any specific travel instructions to ensure a smooth final leg of your journey to Tirtha Quddus.

By Taxi (if you miss the bus!)
The most direct and convenient route is by private vehicle or airport taxi. The drive from KLIA typically takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. This option provides the flexibility to travel directly to our gates at your own pace.

Services like Grab are widely available and can be booked directly from your smartphone upon arrival at KLIA. This is often a cost-effective and reliable alternative to airport taxis.
