The People’s Scholar
Mufti Saeed Warsama Bulhan
Born in Egypt and raised in Melbourne, Mufti Saeed Warsama Bulhan completed a Bachelor of Science from The University of Melbourne, specialising in Neuroscience before embarking on his religious pursuit of knowledge.
He then spent over ten years studying the sacred Islamic Sciences under the tutelage of reputable senior scholars from around the world and has been granted several Ijazaat (licenses to teach) in Qur’an recitation, Jurisprudence, Theology and Hadith (among others). Mufti Saeed spent a year specialising in Fiqh and ifta at Madrassah Inaamiyah Camperdown. He has taught numerous texts in fiqh, hadith, usul ul fiqh and other subjects, from beginners to advanced.
Travelling extensively throughout the Indian Subcontinent, Africa, UK, and North America he has taught Islamic Sciences, organised retreats, taken groups to Umrah and Hajj, and counselled the community and the youth, while assisting committees in developing transformative educational programs.
He is currently an Executive member of the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) and holds the office of Assistant Secretary and is also the Scholar in Residence at Australian Islamic Centre, Newport Mosque.
His students love him and are often seen leaving his class smiling. He can be spotted at the local masjid as much as the Brighton Yacht club!
